Hazelnut Chai

Some of you might remember a restaurant chain in the Bay Area, called cafe gratitude. They served a hazelnut chai, that was delicious and warming. It was a long time ago, and is probably not a faithful reproduction, but it was good inspiration for this yummy winter drink.

Ingredients: Serves 3

4 – 5 cups of unsweetened hazelnut milk per person

1/2 cup of coconut milk (or 1.4 cup of coconut cream)

1 large tablespoon of honey

1 tablespoon of maple syrup.

1/4 tsp of sea salt

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

1/4 tsp of french 5 spice

1/4 tsp of nutmeg

1/4 tsp of turmeric

Steps:

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan on medium heat for 3 – 5 minutes.

Stir occasionally

Do not boil

Serve
